I've started my work as a music teacher at IS Ruhr in August 2017 and I couldn't imagine a better place to pass on my passion for music. The PYP's (Primary Years Programme) approach to enquiry-based learning where creativity and imagination play an important role seems to me the best way to help students explore music. Rather than following an inflexible curriculum I'm given the freedom with the "scope and sequence for music in the PYP" to tailor my lessons to students' needs and interests and at the same time challenge them with new material. I thoroughly enjoy my work at IS Ruhr and get inspired every day by my great colleagues and students.
A fantastic International school in the center of Essen. The school has very international make up. It offers personalized education to children as young as three and an International Baccalaureate curriculum at high school level. Very competent teachers and staff. Appointments are easy to make and a trial day can be arranged. I personally have two very happy children at this school and highly recommend it. If you want to raise thoughtful and mindful children, who can learn actively and productively, this is a school for them.
